On Wednesday, August 6th we celebrated six weeks of post-op for Charlie. It seemed like forever for this day to come for him. He has been desperately wanting to get back to his usual busy self and take part in some of his sport activities, ect. As I was coming down the street, I see he and Corwyn tossing a football. Then I see Charlie catch the football and buckle over - I freak out!! Charlie caught the football and the tip of it landed 2mm by his incision. It left a little red mark for a couple of days. It was okay that it happened because he wasn't hurt, but it hurt enough to remind him that his chest is still very tender! Charlie can resume all his activities - gradually. He has been riding his bike, playing catch and shooting some hoops. We took the kids boating and Charlie spent some time swimming and tubing. He said that was the best day of his summer! Charlie has grown .5" and has gained 8 pounds. His body is in a real growth spurt. It is just amazing to see how our Lord has restored our boy to health and wholeness. We are so grateful! |
